Best Illinois Vanity Plates
In all my years of driving in Illinois, I have only had one set of vanity plates on my vehicle. They said 'LIL ZIM 2", and they were created and put on by my parents, (my dad is the original "Zim"), when I got my first car. I rocked those plates for about 2 decades, and now they sit in a custom frame made by husband.
Today my minivan sports lame, regular license plates, primarily because I can't think of anything to put on them that would be cooler than "LIL ZIM 2".

If you are on a mission to create your own awesome Illinois vanity plate, there are a few things you need to know going in:
- Getting a new vanity plate issued to a currently titled vehicle will cost you $265. (subject to approval)
- Coming up with a plate idea that isn't already used will be more difficult than you think.
- The Illinois Secretary of State's office rejects a lot of vanity plate requests every year.
CBS Chicago says that in 2023, the Secretary of State's office rejected 304 vanity plate requests, and some of them were truly wild.
People tried to get plates that would make your mama blush like 'BONER' and "EATBUTT"...
Naughty and creative ones like "HOHAULR" and "YERARSE"...
Plates that cleverly included the FCK letter combination, and several that poked fun at government like "JBSUCKS".
Then there were these weird vanity plate requests that got rejected for being too confusing for cops I guess...
