In Rockford, there is still major package delivery delays.

I do not think we are going to have to hold any benefits for online shopping businesses anytime soon. Before COVID, people were already ordering a lot of stuff through the internet. Once, we were all forced into lockdown and quarantine, the website purchases went nuts. Many consumers did not want to leave their homes, so why not just have everything delivered straight to you.

Of course, when the Christmas shopping season started online purchases got even bigger. I think every time I drove down my block and looked out the window, there were multiple delivery trucks on my street. My neighbors would have boxes stacked up on their front porches for when they got home from work.

If you did any shopping through the internet for the holidays, you probably noticed it took much longer to receive them by mail. I am actually still waiting for a couple of things that I ordered at the beginning of December. Maybe, you are too. Well, apparently we are not alone.

According to wgntv.com,

"Postal delivery delays persist after the holiday season rush. The holiday season may be over but the United States Postal Service is still experiencing delays in package deliveries. The USPS website says they’re experiencing unprecedented volume increases and limited employee availability due to COVID-19."

If you have not yet received something you ordered, just continue to be patient. It will eventually arrive. Maybe you were thinking about purchasing an item with that Christmas money, you might want to wait a few weeks.
