One of America’s Best Towns to Visit this Fall is in Wisconsin
Maybe you're all "traveled out" from a busy summer and need to chill or perhaps you haven't done anything and you're thinking about a quick weekend getaway, this might be the place for you.
Either way, if you've been super busy or super bored, going to this little town sounds perfect.
Insider put together a list of the 16 Best US Cities and Towns to Visit in the Fall, and one tiny town in Wisconsin made the list.
Maybe you've been here, maybe you haven't but just about everyone I know who has made the trek to Door County, Wisconsin has had nothing but positive things to say about their trip.
Most of the folks I know who have vacationed in Door County have gone during the Spring and Summer months but it sounds like it's also the place to be in the Fall.
You can drive down highways 57 or 42 to see all of it, with lighthouses and European-styled buildings along the way.
There are also cute towns and orchards to visit throughout the peninsula, where you can stop in for events, local art, and great food.
It's best to visit in early October when all the leaves have changed but before it's too cold.
It's also been said that Door County is a perfect location for couples and has been called America's "Most Romantic Midwestern Getaway." So if you're coupled up or thinking about popping the question, you might want to consider heading up north.
A trip to Door County is 3 and a half hours away from Rockford, so pack up the things and see what is considered one of the best towns for Fall in America.
