Newest Burger Joint in Illinois Ready to Become One of ‘State’s Best’
There's a brand new spot in town for the kind of burger night that you'll be talking about for weeks. The menu looks amazing.
Another tantalizing smell has blown into downtown Rockford and burger fans are rejoicing!
It feels a bit awkward to be so excited about the latest eatery brand in Rockford's River District as it is the former home of another one of my favorites.
Wait until you see what this joint does with cheese!
That wonderful new food you smell is coming from, 212 Grindhouse, a brand new burger joint at 212 E. State Street (formerly Taco Betty's)
We reached out to Alan Brown, who is part of the team who opened 212 Grindhouse, and he shared some details of the new place that I think you're going to like:
- 212 Grindhouse's meat comes from Eickman's Processing in Seward, Illinois
- The baked-fresh-daily buns come the legendary Mary's Market in Rockord
"The multi-grain is outstanding", said Brown
Pump Up The Jam
House-ground, all-beef patty, griddled cheese curds, garlic aioli, bacon onion jam and a roasted tomato with balsamic glaze.
"Griddled cheese curds... on my burger! That's how you become one of the state's best burgers." said me.
Get Stuffed
House-ground, all-beef patty, grilled portobello mushroom stuffed with Swiss cheese, fried onions and bbq sauce.
Diary of a Shrimpy Kid
House-ground, all-beef patty, shrimp, garlic, asiago sauce and arugula.
Saddle Up
House-ground, all-beef patty, fried jalapeño poppers, bronco-berry sauce (can't wait to find out what bronco-berry sauce is), horsey sauce and curly fries.
I Don't Eat Red Meat
Deep-fried, house-ground chicken patty, topped with house bbq sauce, coleslaw, sweet potato fries.
A Rockford artist, Dre Skrillah, was commissioned to give the walls an entirely new vibe.
