Texting and driving has become a massive problem on today's roadways. People just can't seem to put their phone down while they're driving. Well that might stop here soon if this next bill passes according to WANDTV.com. Named House Bill 3286 or the texting while driving bill, if passed, It would lean more towards a zero tolerance policy with a hefty fine of $1,000 dollars.

The bill was brought fourth after a legislator's constituent was hit by a driver that was texting and lost his leg in the process. The driver who was at fault in the accident received only a small fine of $75.00. Honestly, something needs to be done and this might be a step in the right direction. Every day in the U.S, people are injured or killed in accidents that could have been avoided just by a driver paying more attention. I did some research and in 2018 alone, 3,477 people lost their lives and over 391,000 were injured because of texting and driving. Here's that link.
