There is a recall underway from Fiat Chrysler involving 894,000+ Jeeps, Dodges and Fiat SUVs. Also Cherokees and Libertys like the ones manufactured in Belvidere are being recalled for these two separate safety issues.

If you work at the Chrysler plant in Belvidere, or service vehicles like Jeep, Dodge, Fiat Cherokees, or Libertys, or drive any of the vehicles in the recall, this will interest you.

About 500,000 Dodge Journeys and Fiat Freemonts from 2012 to 2015 are being recalled because of an issue causing moisture to build up in the anti-lock brake control module, disabling the system.

The company is also recalling 352,000 Jeep Grand Cherokees and Libertys from 2003 and 2004 because the airbags can inflate for no reason. Seven people have been injured so far.

It was not determined if any of the vehicles recalled were indeed manufactured in Belvidere at the Chrysler Plant.

According to WREX TV-13, "owners will be told when they can schedule service for the vehicles".

Contact your dealership, or watch your emails and mail delivery, if you own any of the vehicles involved in the recall.
