Olivo Taco’s Latest Move: A New Deli Market Opening Soon in Rockford
Everyone's favorite 3 for $5 taco business is expanding again, and this new business venture is something Rockford desperately needs.
Favorite Tacos in Rockford
For my family of picky eaters, going out to eat can be a frustrating decision. When three of us are craving burgers, there's one child that complains about it. If my two daughters and I want chicken, my husband will be less than enthused.
One of the only food choices that will please my entire family is tacos, and Olivo Taco is one of our favorite places to stop.
New Olivo Deli Market Coming to Rockford
Ever since opening their first food truck in 2008, Olivo Taco has continued to grow and expand in the Rockford area. They now have several more food trucks, two restaurants (one on College Ave. in Rockford and one on S State St. in Belvidere), the Doorbuster/Treasure Hunt Deals store, a gaming parlor, and soon they will be opening a new deli in Downtown Rockford.
According to mystateline.com:
Mahmud Zatar has applied for a liquor and tobacco license to open Olivo Deli Market in the former Discount Cigarettes & Pop Store at 321 7th Street.
Not having a grocery store downtown has been a topic of conversation for several years in Rockford, and although the new Olivo Deli Market won’t be a full grocery store, it is expected to offer the everyday essentials locals rely on.
Olivo Deli Market's business application goes before Rockford’s Liquor and Tobacco Advisory board tonight, June 17, so we should know permanent opening plans soon.
