New law Will Require Teen Drivers to be Pulled Over by Police in Illinois
A new law signed by Governor Rauner will require teens to be pulled over by police, right away.
Yes, it is one of the most embarrassing and intimidating situations any driver can be in when traveling, but it is for a good reason, a positive teaching experience.
This was something never taught when I began driving way back when, and in this day and age of viral videos on social media showing police confrontations, it is an important skill to know. The proper way to handle a police stop will be incorporated into driver's education in Illinois as of 2017. The curriculum will be based on guidelines provided by the Illinois Secretary of State Office.
According to ABC3 TV, many Illinois schools will bring in guest speakers, including uniformed police officers, to simulate traffic stops and to discuss the things you should do and not do during a traffic stop.
Personally, I think this part of the curriculum would be beneficial for every driver in Illinois to learn.
