Remember last summer when everyone was talking about Kwik Trip's Blueberry Dunker potato chips? Well, the company just released another new limited-time flavor that everyone originally thought was an April Fools' Day prank.

Reasons to Love Kwik Trip

A few years ago, a Kwik Trip opened right by my family's cabin in Wisconsin. I had heard people raving about Kwik Trip for years, but since I live in Illinois where they refuse to build more stores, (I'm kidding, kinda), I had never been inside a Kwik Trip before. A few years ago that changed, and I've loved Kwik Trip ever since.

When we are in Wisconsin, our stops at any store are usually focused on two things: Alcohol and snacks, and Kwik Trip excels at both of those things. From a large liquor section and beer cooler, to delicious donuts and hot eats, Kwik Trip has everything a hungry and thirsty Wisconsin visitor needs.

Kwik Trip also likes to get creative with limited-time food offerings to get people talking, and this summer's new flavor is definitely getting the job done.

New Limited-Time Chip Flavor at Kwik Trip

On April 1, 2025, Kwik Trip posted this on social media, and obviously everyone thought they were joking:

But it turns out, they were 100 percent serious.

Yes, my friends, Hot Dog Potato Chips are the new limited-edition potato chips available now at Kwik Trip.

Now, some people might think this new flavor doesn't sound as outlandish at Blueberry Dunker or Glazer flavored chips, but some reviewers are less than impressed.

According to a review from Let's Go Wisconsin:

The chips taste savory and a little smoky. Essentially, if you took the smokiness from their All Dressed chips and took away everything else, you would be left with these hot dog chips.
These chips are not bad. Unfortunately, these chips are just… nothing. They don’t move the needle in either direction.

The Let's Go Wisconsin reviewer gave the hot dog chips a 2.5 out of 5, primarily because they are too bland. The reviewer also said: "If you are a fan of BBQ chips, you will think these are a dialed-down version of that, but that’s about it."
