Neighbors of Juvenile Found Shot in Rockford Not Cooperating
It's a sad day when anyone gets shot, especially a child. Luckily, this juvenile that was found shot in the street on Tuesday night has non-life threatening injuries. Even worse, nearby neighbors aren't helping authorities.
Police have not released the child's gender or age, but just the fact that the child will survive. According to WREX, police have no leads.
Investigators say the shooting happened just after 7 p.m. on the 300 block of N Independence Avenue. Police would not say how old the victim was, or whether it was a boy or a girl, just that it was a juvenile and the injuries are not life-threatening.
How can the Police literally have no leads? Because nearby neighbors ARE NOT cooperating with the investigation.
Police say people in the area are not cooperating with the investigation so they have no suspect information. If you have any information about this shooting you can call police or make an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers at 815-963-7867.
How does one sleep at night knowing who shot a child yet refuses to tell the police? Playing devil's advocate, maybe it was an accident. Accident or not, why hide the information? It'll be so much worse for the person when investigators figure it out, and they will. Also, where were the child's parents and why was he/she in the street?
