We often hear of collisions involving automobiles and deer, but hardly of motorcycles hitting deer darting out into the road. This past Tuesday, a deer hit a motorcycle in DeKalb County and it has left a Kingston man dead. Here's the latest.

The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office says that 51-year-old James Willson of Kingston was riding on Five Points Rd. north of Old State Road when the deer strike happened.  Emergency responders from the Sycamore Fire Dept. arrived at the scene 11:30pm to find Willson and his bike lying in the roadway.  He was transported to Kishwaukee Hospital where he was pronounced dead according to WTVO/WQRF and MyStateline.com.

Speed or alcohol were not factors in the crash, and Willson was wearing a helmet.

Always watch for motorcycles AND deer anytime of the year. Thoughts and prayers to the Willson family.
