Miranda Lambert has shared her thoughts on the upcoming 2019 CMA Awards, throwing her support to Carrie Underwood as this year's Entertainer of the Year.

Lambert turned to Instagram on Monday (Oct. 7) to share her thoughts on the matter, posting a picture of herself and Underwood onstage together singing "Somethin' Bad." Garth Brooks, Eric Church, Chris Stapleton and Keith Urban all square off against Underwood in the night's biggest category, and Lambert had kind words for each of them in turn.

The "It All Comes Out in the Wash" singer calls Urban "a friend and a hero of mine," saying she's "forever grateful" to him for believing in her and taking her out on her first big tour when she was a new act. She adds that Brooks' In Pieces was the first cassette she ever bought with money she earned from doing chores, and he was her first concert, too. She calls that show "life changing."

Lambert lauds Church as "one of the best songwriters of all time in my opinion," while Stapleton is "the kind of voice & songwriting that makes you want to quit, and work harder."

But she saves her highest praise for Underwood, with whom she recorded "Somethin' Bad" in 2014.

"She put out her first single in 2005 and from then on country music was changed for good. That iconic voice has been classin’ up our stages, charts and televisions for a decade and a half," Lambert raves. "She blows me away every time I hear her sing. She never wavers in who she is or what she stands for. She has stayed true & pushed herself to be better."

"I have her back in this picture and I’ll always have her back," Lambert adds before addressing Underwood directly: "So for the sake of sequins, spanx and spray tans, take it home! You Carrie the torch! she writes, adding the hashtags #Carrieon and #EOTY.

Underwood is also hosting the 2019 CMA Awards alongside Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton, while longtime co-host Brad Paisley is sitting it out this year.

Lambert is currently on the road on her 2019 Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars Tour.
