Man Highlights Rockford Family Fun on YouTube

A Rockford Dad named Jon Recknagel and his son Liam are having a blast in the Stateline area, and they're documenting it all on their YouTube channel called, "One Fun Thing" with the goal of sending a positive message to parents. 

As the parent of a toddler and an infant, I feel a lot of parental guilt these days. I constantly feel like I am not doing as many fun things with my almost 3-year-old, Ella, because I am always having to tend to my 4-month-old daughter Harper's needs. I thank Jon Recknagel for showing me that "one fun thing" can truly make a difference in a child's life, and that it's easier to do than most parents think.

On their YouTube vlog, Jon and Liam show fun times at all kinds of Rockford favorites like the Discovery Center Museum, Nicholas Conservatory and Gardens, the Gymnastic Academy of Rockford's Trampoline Park, favorite local parks and much more. Recknagel recently told WIFR that he originally started the channel to keep family members across the country up to date with Liam's life, and he hopes the videos are able to inspire families everywhere to spend quality time together each and every day.

Recknagel also told WIFR;

Growing up you just need to look back and say my family really cared about me and they wanted me to have a fun and positive upbringing and really make that lasting impression on them."
