Man Broke Into Diner and Stole Cheesecake, Then Broke Into Adult Store
A Montgomery Township, Pennsylvania man was arrested last week after breaking into two businesses before being scared away by an employee.
Robert Dugan, 38, has been charged with two counts of felony burglary, one count of felony criminal mischief, and misdemeanor counts of criminal mischief and theft by unlawful taking, all from one evening of stupidity.
Dugan was caught on security footage at the American Star Diner around 4:30am on March 31st, where he broke the locking mechanism and got inside the restaurant. Inside, he allegedly stole an entire cheesecake and half of a prime rib roast and then left through the broken front door.
After he was finished in the diner, the total amount of damages and loss amounts to a little over $1,000, according to the police documents.
NorthPennNow reports that after Dugan left the diner, he was spotted around 6am, shirtless, outside of an adult store called Adult World. He was seen on footage hitting a message board with a baseball bat, breaking it, before hitting the windows of the business.
Finally, Dugan struck the glass on the front door of the business, shattering it. Footage showed after the glass broke, Dugan leaned through the door, but a female employee in the business yelled at him.
He was seen fleeing toward a Costco, after causing nearly $5,000 worth of damage to Adult World.
Dugan was taken into custody that morning, and arraigned in the afternoon by District Judge Juanita Price, who set bail at $10,000 unsecured. He then was released from custody with his next court appearance date sate for April 12th.
