Winnebago County deputies have arrested two men after five kilograms of cocaine were seized in a coordinated narcotics investigation.

Large-Scale Cocaine Operation Uncovered in Rockford

According to the press release, the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit has arrested two Rockford men following an investigation into a large-scale cocaine distribution network in northern Illinois.

The arrests come after deputies received information about individuals allegedly trafficking significant quantities of cocaine throughout the Rockford area.

Two Suspects Arrested, Five Kilograms of Cocaine Seized

On Thursday (10/23), deputies took Fernando Aviles, 38, of Rockford, into custody in the 4000 block of Morsay Drive.

According to the report, while making the arrest, approximately 2 kilograms of cocaine from Aviles' vehicle.

Later on Thursday (10/23), Winnebago County Sheriff Deputies located Alexsandro Cervantes-Huerta, 24, also of Rockford, in the 7800 block of East State Street, where they seized 3 kilograms of cocaine from his vehicle.

Both Men Face Felony Charges

Following a review of the case by the Winnebago County State's Attorney's Office, both men were charged with Possession with Intent to deliver over 900 grams of cocaine.

According to the press release, these charges are merely accusations, and both men are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
