When I was living in Minnesota, one of my favorite things about summer was meeting my friends at Floyd's on Lake Minnetonka.

We'd start the day with brunch, a cocktail or two and jump into a boat and head to the lake's biggest party destination- an island where boat after boat would tether to each other and spend hour after hour floating, swimming, tanning and drinking, of course.

Care to take a guess as to what we called that island? It was Big, Big Island.

Not to be confused with 'Pee Island,' Machesney Park's version of Big Island on the Rock River.

I can only imagine that it got it's name, not because of the partying that goes on their, but that it originally started as a destination to get out and well, pee. Hey, I wouldn't want to jump into the Rock River to pee either.

Perhaps, if that was all that was going on there, there wouldn't be a need to prohibit boaters from parking there; but according to Eyewitness News, the number of loud noise complaints from nearby residents has increased over the years and they were hoping to do away with docking there.

Unfortunately, board members decided not to pass the ordinance after members of the boating community came forward.
