Luke Bryan Wants to Fund the College Dreams of Four Illinois Students
If you've been a fan of Country singer Luke Bryan for a while now, you know he's a major celebrity that still holds his farm-grown roots very close to his heart.
Since 2009, (minus a hiatus due to COVID in 2020), Luke Bryan has embarked on a Farm Tour where he plays shows on different farmers' lands throughout the nation. This past September, Luke Bryan's Farm Tour played a show at a farm in Chillicothe, Illinois, (which I am still sad I missed), and now the give-back portion of that show is about to begin.
Luke Bryan Creates Scholarship for Bradley University Students
Besides highlighting local farmers throughout the country the purpose of Luke Bryan's Farm Tour has always been to give back to farming communities. Since 2009, Luke Bryan's Farm Tour has awarded college scholarships to 60 students, and now it's Bradley University's turn.
According to centralillinoisproud.com;
Four Bradley students will receive a one-time $2,000 Luke Bryan Farm Tour Scholarship, made possible, in part, through Bryan’s September 11, 2021, Farm Tour performance in Chillicothe, Illinois. This scholarship is available for the 2022-2023 academic year.
To qualify for the scholarship, students must be enrolled full-time (and in good standing) at Bradley University, prove financial need, and have personal experience in farming or agriculture. Potential scholarship awardees do not need to be pursuing a degree in agriculture but MUST complete a Bradley University application and an essay by May 31, 2022. The online application can be found here.
Where Will Luke Bryan Be Stopping On His 2022 Farm Tour?
Details for Luke Bryan's 2022 Farm Tour have not been released yet, but I will say there is often a very good chance an Illinois farm will be featured on the list. Keep a close eye on lukebryan.com so you don't miss any of the big announcements!
