One week after Christian comedian John Crist canceled the rest of his tour dates for 2019 after multiple women accused him of a pattern of sexual misconduct, his former girlfriend, Lauren Alaina, alluded to their split in September on Monday night's (Nov. 11) episode of Dancing With the Stars.

Alaina and Crist dated for several months in 2019, but she announced that they had broken up in an interview on Sept. 16., just before she began her current run on DWTS. While she didn't name Crist or speak out on the allegations against him, Alaina said on Monday that working on the show has been therapeutic for her.

“I went through a breakup two weeks before I came on this show. Kind of a crazy time, but being on Dancing With the Stars has been the perfect recipe for healing my broken heart," she stated. "This show has been like my new boyfriend. I’m dating Dancing With the Stars and it’s going great."

Alaina danced the quickstep to the Supremes' "You Can't Hurry Love" with her partner, Gleb Savchenko, and afterward, she told judge Tom Bergeron she'd "had a little bit of a bad day last week."

The allegations about Crist broke in a bombshell report from Charisma News on Wednesday, Nov. 6. Five different women alleged a years-long pattern of behavior in which they say Crist "exploited his Christian reputation and platform to harass, manipulate and exploit young women."

Crist addressed the allegations in a statement, admitting "sexual sin" and "addiction struggles" and saying that he has received treatment off and on for years. Crist has canceled the rest of his year to try to deal with his problems.

Before she dated Crist, Alaina dated her previous boyfriend, Alex Hopkins, for six years. They got engaged before announcing that they were going their separate ways in January of 2019. Now 25, the singer says she's happy to be alone for now.

“I am single for the first time as an adult, so I am not trying to hurry love," Alaina says. "I will say that I am enjoying it."

Alaina and Savchenko earned a score of 34 out of a possible 40 for their quickstep. Dancing With the Stars airs each Monday on ABC at 8PM ET.
