Kaminsky of Badgers To Be Honored
It's Frank Kaminsky Day in Lisle, Illinois Thursday, April 16. Here's why.
Basketball player Frank Kaminsky of the Wisconsin Badgers will have his high-school jersey number retired Thursday in Lisle, Illinois.
According to WKOW Madison, the 7-foot Wisconsin center will be honored at Benet Academy, where he played from 2007 to 2011. The mayor of Lisle, Illinois has declared April 16 "Frank Kaminsky Day."
Kaminsky led the Badgers to the NCAA finals before losing to Duke. But Wisconsin beat previously undefeated and overall No. 1 seed Kentucky in dramatic fashion prior to the Championship round.
Last week Kaminsky won the John R. Wooden Award as college basketball's top men's player. Overall, not a bad week for the University of Wisconsin student.
