Former Rockford Lutheran standout James Robinson was released by the New England Patriots, and is looking for a new NFL home. CBSSPORTS

James Robinson made his way from Rockford Lutheran, to ISU, then went undrafted but was picked up by the Jacksonville Jags. In Jacksonville, James had an amazing rookie season and looked to play the underdog role and secure a nice NFL career. James Robinson was moved to the New York Jets, where the injury bug caught up to him. The New England Patriots came calling, and it looked like this could be his future home.

After Monday's mandatory minicamp, James was released by the New England Patriots. Injuries and the ability to stay healthy was the concern of the New England Patriots:

In all, the last three seasons for James has been filled with injuries. From an Achilles season ending injury, and also knee and heel injuries. With all of these, the New England Patriots released him, only paying him $150,000.

So where could Rockford Lutheran star play in the NFL this year? There are a handful of big name running backs that are free agents right now. Dalvin Cook, Kareem Hunt, Ezekiel Elliot, and Leonard Fournette are all looking for teams. That unfortunately might make it difficult for James Robinson to latch on to a team right away.

Teams that could use an additional Running Back include the Los Angeles Rams, the Los Angeles Chargers, the New York Giants, and the Arizona Cardinals.

Good luck finding a new home, James.
