Two different sets of thieves rob two separate shoe stores in the same small Illinois town within twenty-four hours.

I know if you're not into shoes, a robbery at a shoe store might sound a little weird. Think back to the day when Air Jordans just came out. Those sneakers were so popular, that every shop was sold out. Thieves would steal them right off of their victim's feet. Plus, they were very expensive at the time.

Nowadays, shoes are worth big money. Fans will camp out for the latest and greatest releases. Collectors make a lot of cash by selling them on the internet. Just like anything that is very valuable, it's targeted by thieves.

Illinois Shoe Stores Robbed

Both shoe store robberies happened in Elmhurst which is a really nice small town in our state. The crimes aren't related because they were committed by different thieves. It just so happens that they occurred within just one day in the same city.

Shoe Store Robbery Number One In Elmhurst

The first robbery happened after 3 a.m. at Sole House on York Road. Two thieves smashed the glass entry door of the shop into pieces. They ran in, grabbed a bunch of shoes, and took off. The police have a description of the suspects and are investigating the incident.

Shoe Store Robbery Number Two In Elmhurst

This crime happened the next day at the Shoe Carnival on Route 83. The thief walked into the store, put a pair of sneakers into his bag, and took off. Employees gave the police a description and they are currently looking for the suspect.
