Rockford Has Some Interesting Picks for the Halftime Show

The halftime show is one of the biggest parts of the big game, and every year, people have their own ideas about who should take the stage.

Some want a massive pop star.

Others would rather see a rock band.

And some want a surprise performer to take the stage.

I asked on Facebook who Rockford would want to see perform at the halftime show, and the answers were quite interesting.

Boy bands were one of the top suggested, which could mean a lot of nostalgia, like New Kids on the Block, One Direction, Backstreet Boys, and cringy dance moves.

Someone said Weird Al Yankovic... would you want that?

Chris Stapleton was named dropped, too.  Giving country music fans a chance to see an artist they love, and not R&B or Pop.

And then there was one response that didn't name a performer at all.

"Anyone but Jay Z."

Not just one person, but multiple people said it!  Halftime shows have become huge productions, with elaborate stages, surprise appearances, and performances that get people talking long after the game is over.  But based on my poll, not everyone is looking for the same thing.

Some Rockford residents want the nostalgia, others want a rock concert or country performance.  We can't make everyone happy!

So, if you could choose the halftime show performer, who would you pick?  Would you go with a full-blown band or someone more low-key?  Either way, Jay Z is taking the stage this year, so let's start talking next year!
