Would You Drop $35 Million on Most Expensive Home For Sale in Wisconsin?
This historic Lake Geneva, Wisconsin estate just hit the market, making it the most expensive listing in the state. Take a look at what $35 million will get you.
Visit Lake Geneva
While Lake Geneva is becoming more of a great vacation spot for everyone, it still is a bit of a playground getaway for the super-rich. At one time in its history, Lake Geneva was almost exclusively the place where the richest Illinoisans would escape to play and relax.
Just a few minutes on the lake and you'll be able to see the luxurious homes that belong to rather wealthy families. One of those mansions just hit the market and it immediately became the most expensive house you can buy, not just in Lake Geneva, but in Wisconsin.

Lake Geneva Homes For Sale
You can bet on most homes near the water in Lake Geneva selling for millions, but none quite like the estate you're about to see. This estate comes with a name, the Aloha Lodge, and a hefty price tag.
The Aloha Lodge
The estate was originally built in 1900 for Tracy Drake, founder of the Drake and Blackstone hotels in Chicago, according to wgntv.com.

The 123-year-old estate should be called a lodge because it's large enough for several families to vacation in at the same time. Let me just run down some of the highlights of the Aloha Lodge, it's staggering.
- 20,000 square feet
- 8 bedrooms
- 11 full bathrooms
- 5 half bathrooms
- 360 feet of shoreline
In 2011, there was a major interior and exterior renovation that tripled the home's original size. Two wings were built off of the main house and done in a way to make it look as if it had always been there.
The Aloha Lodge is made up of four levels. The main level features a salon, a family room with a built-in bar, an office, a living room, two separate dining areas, a library, and a uniquely oval-shaped kitchen. The second level is almost entirely bedrooms and bathrooms. Above that, the top level is an open loft, that is currently a playroom. The lower level is a media room and an oversized recreation room.
So, to answer the question I asked at the top, I'd love to drop big money for this home (if I had big money) for the house and the land, but I'd need some major updating on the decor.
