If you can't help but feel like mosquitoes are just waiting for you to step foot outside, you might not be as crazy as you think.
Every time summer rolls around, I get eaten up with mosquito bites within seconds of walking outside. Is it the perfume I'm wearing? Maybe my natural body odor is attracting these pests? Let's get to the bottom of it!

Fun fact: most mosquito bites are from females because they rely on the protein from our human blood for their egg production. Other than egg production, mosquitoes might be drawn to you way more than others for many different reasons.
Carbon dioxide
Interestingly enough, if you're a larger person, you become more attractive because of the amount of carbon dioxide you exhale. Don't stop breathing... just take smaller breath maybe haha.
Body heat
Exercising outside, naturally having a warm body temperature, or just getting some sun attracts mosquitoes, which leads to more bites.
Wearing darker clothing
If you wear darker colors, maybe lighten up your wardrobe. Darker clothing is easier for mosquitoes to spot in the wild. Red, blue, and green are some of the colors to steer clear from!

I did find a few ways to reduce the amount of mosquitoes living around your home, though. It doesn't completely kill them off, but at least there won't be as many swarming you when you walk outside!
