According to TSA.gov, "In the event you arrive at the airport without acceptable identification (whether lost, stolen, or otherwise), you may still be allowed to fly. By providing additional information, the TSA has other ways to confirm your identity so you can reach your flight."

The TSA says, "If your identity cannot be verified, you will not be allowed to enter the screening checkpoint."

While it's reassuring to know that there are ways to get through without an ID, it's always best to be prepared. Having your ID with you ensures a smoother travel experience, as the alternative methods are not guaranteed.
