It doesn't have to be 90 degrees to enjoy ice cream in Illinois.

In fact, many would say ice cream is way more tasty when it's below zero outside.

I worked at Coldstone Creamery for two years when I was in high school and there were regulars who would come in daily, even year-around, for their sweet tooth fix.

You would think sales would slow down at the shop when winter hit, but that definitely wasn't the case. Oh no, believe me.. people would come during snowstorms!

You can't always get these limited-time flavors at your local ice cream shops, so we tend to stock up on our favorites before they're gone until next year.

3. Nothing soothes a sore throat like cold, creamy ice cream!

I know my go-to "get well" remedy for a sore throat is a pint of Ben & Jerry's Strawberry Cheesecake ice cream or any flavor from Dairyhäus in Rockton, Illinois. Their selection is massive!
