Here’s one of those moments where our little corner of Illinois gets to shine on the national stage, and all it takes is a couple of clicks. Sports Illustrated just dropped its National Boys Athlete of the Week poll, and one of our own is on the list. Actually… not just “on the list.” He is the list.

Senior running back Caden Considine didn’t just show up in the IHSA 3A state title game; he rewrote the record book. Caden ran for 367 yards, a state championship game record, and scored three touchdowns while piling up 430 total yards in Byron’s wild 56–50 win over Unity. Oh, and he also delivered a clutch pass breakup in the end zone in the final seconds, sealing the Tigers’ third state championship in five years. Absolute legend status.

Why This Vote Matters

Sports Illustrated pulls in fans from all over the country. Big states. Massive programs. But none of them had a performance like Caden’s. This is a chance for Byron, and anyone who loves high school sports greatness, to show the country what we see right here at home.
