You'll have to navigate downtown Rock Island a bit differently this weekend.

The 28th Annual Xtream Rock Island Grand Prix will run on Labor Day Weekend and there will be several road closures you'll need to watch out for.

The closures will start on Friday, September 1st at 5:00 p.m. and if you're hanging out downtown before then, you'll want to move your car so it doesn't get towed.

WHBF reports that the road closures will look like this for the go-kart race:

You'll still be able to get into the local businesses around the course but you'll definitely run into some traffic messes. So: if you're going westbound into Rock Island from Moline on 4th, you'll have to take either 1st or 7th Avenues at 24th Street.

If you're on 17th headed into downtown Rock Island, you'll have to jump off at 5th Avenue. 18th, 19th, and 20th Streets will all be closed between 1st and 5th Avenues. 17th Street will be closed between 3rd and 5th Avenues and 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Avenues will be closed between 17th & 20th Streets.

It's a lot.

The roads are going to stay closed at night, yes police will be patroling to make sure no one is illegally parked, but there's no public parking lots in downtown Rock Island that will close. They'll just be difficult to get in.

The race goes from 8:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. on Saturday and then again on Sunday. Roads will open back up to normal by Monday morning.
