Popular Tobacco Product in Illinois Recalled Due to Hidden Danger
It would be the worst kind of surprise to encounter a dangerous object you can't see when enjoying a product. That's the case for a popular tobacco product available in Illinois that's being recalled because of a hidden danger.
The FDA shared this urgent recall bulletin today regarding one of the more popular tobacco products in America, the Kodiak Premium Wintergreen Longcut Tobacco, that's readily available in Illinois. The recall is in response to a routine inspection of equipment at a Clarksville, Tennessee manufacturing facility where it was revealed that metal-to-metal contact of equipment was ejecting tiny metal shavings into the tobacco product.
The bulletin says the tobacco in question was distributed in "distributed in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Wisconsin, and West Virginia".
This is what the product looks like that's being recalled.
