The last time I flew out of the airport in St. Louis was in early 2016 after my mother passed away. I had the misfortune of having connecting flights with not a lot of room for error and had to deal with TSA checkpoints like everyone. That was made worse by things some people in front of me had packed that the "system" needed to look at. (#facepalm)

I found a helpful guide shared by Allianz Travel that includes many items you are never allowed to pack in checked luggage when you fly through a Missouri airport no matter if it's St. Louis or Kansas City. This is not a conclusive list, but just some that I found a bit odd.

You can take laptops in your carry-on bag and use them on flights (as long as the battery isn't larger than 99w), but you can't pack them in checked in luggage. Any device with a lithium-ion battery is a no-go.
