There's An Election In June?

I have to admit, I got a little confused for a minute. I'm so used to elections being in March and November, that I couldn't figure out why my mom was talking about the Illinois primary being in June. I was wondering why there was so much political advertising going on already. Then I remember, yes we do vote this month.

Candidates Went All-Out For This Election

I don't know about you but my mailbox was filled every day for the last several weeks with political mailers. I was blown away because we never get that much mail. A lot of them were exactly the same. I guess the candidates went all-out for this election. Plus, many of the busy intersections around town were lined with political signs. There were all the radio and TV commercials too. My wife and I were trying to figure out how much money was spent on getting residents to vote. It had to be in the millions.
