A woman from Loves Park is facing several charges after she crashed her vehicle into a Machesney Park home during the afternoon commute on Wednesday (3/1).

According to a press release from the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded around 5:45 pm on Wednesday evening (3/1) to a report of a crash, and when they arrived discovered a silver Buick had driven into the house on the 1200 block of Harlem Road.

The driver of the Buick was identified as 42-year-old Sara Estacion of Loves Park who reportedly left the roadway while traveling eastbound on Harlem Road, struck a curb before driving through a fence on Cadet Road before she eventually hit a gas line and the home on Harlem Road.

No injuries were reported in the crash and Estacion was arrested on the following charges:

  • Driving while License Suspended
  • Improper Lane Usage
  • Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid and Accident
  • No Insurance
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Sara Estacion was taken into custody and lodged in the Winnebago County Jail, according to the press release.

The charges against Estacion are merely allegations and she is considered innocent until or unless proven guilty in the court of law.
