Whenever we enter into times of trouble, our families are usually the ones that are there to help us get through it, but there is one man in Loves Park, Illinois that takes the role of 'brother' way above and beyond.

This week's Hometown Hero is Roger Nielcen of Loves Park, and he was nominated by his grateful sister Kristy for the huge impact Roger has had on her life. Here is what Kristy wrote;

 I'm nominating my brother Roger. He has helped and been there for me through everything. I had open heart surgery and he helped me every day whether it was helping me out of the recliner, getting my food, or taking me to cardiac rehab and my doctor appointments. He also helped me when I was pregnant and on bedrest with my daughter. Recently I left an abusive relationship and my brother took my daughter and I in. He helps me with her and does everything for her. Not only is he an amazing little brother he’s an amazing uncle to my daughter. We are both so lucky to have him in our lives. This is why I nominate him he does everything for everyone and never complains.

Roger, it sounds like you are an amazing role model for your young niece, and I have no doubt your commitment to family is something she will learn from, and lean on her whole life.  Your entire family is lucky to have you in it!

As a small thank you for dedication, we are giving you a $100 Amazon gift card thanks to our friends at Gustafson's Furniture & Mattress. I hope you will you use it to buy something you need, and not something for your adorable niece. Enjoy!
