Have you ever looked at someone in your community and thought, how do they have the time to do all these amazing things for the place we live?

I often meet people that I am in awe of. Whether it be for the strength they show in life's hurdles, or all the hours they spend volunteering for community causes, some people truly give their all to make their community a better place to live. People just like this week's Hometown Hero, Amanda Klinefelter, Deputy Chief of EMS for the Shannon Fire Department.

Here is the nomination letter we received from Amanda's proud mother, Rose Schaney;

I know that I am her mother but I have never seen anyone give as much as she does. She is always there if you need anything in the community, she give her whole heart to everything she does. She has organize Home Town Christmas for Shannon, but most of all she is a EMT and always putting her patience’s first, she treats them all like they were part of her family, She goes out on call day and night, whatever kind of weather, I have seen her give up a holiday dinner to take care of a ambulance call.  She is always willing to organize a blood drive or food drives anything to help her community. She is an awesome lady she never stop caring for people. I can't talk to any one that know her that doesn't have a great word to say about her and her caring.

Amanda, to show our gratitude for your endless hours of caring and devotion to your community, we are giving you a $100 Amazon gift card courtesy of our friends at Gustafson's Furniture & Mattress. We hope that you can find the time to choose something special that will make YOU smile.
