Illinois & Winnebago County Mid-Term Election Results

News outlets and social media proved this mid-term election was important to Illinoisans statewide. Some polling places had droves of voters which created long lines. Whatever the reason may be behind the increase in voter turnout, it's about time. Mid-term and local elections are just as important, if not more, than Presidential elections.

While it's too early to gauge the effects a new governor or various local positions will have on Illinois, an opportunist will see advantages to expanded Amtrak passenger rail service throughout the Land of Lincoln, including Rockford. Almost 80% of voter turnout in Illinois said YES to more commuter trains and I think that is awesome. There were also lots of important local referendums for voters to decide on, some passed and some failed.
