Illinois Rep. Calls Government Shutdown “Dumb” On Live TV

As the government sits twenty-something day of a partial shutdown a GOP rep that often visits Rockford didn't hold back his feelings. "I think it’s the dumbest way to do government in the world.", republican IL rep Adam Kinzinger told CNN. Kinzinger didn't stick to only blasting the shutdown, he also had harsh words for both political parties over failing to compromise over border security. TheHill.com recapped the Illinois Representative's frustrations during an interview.

“I think shutdowns are stupid. I think it’s the dumbest way to do government in the world,” Kinzinger told CNN. "We start using these stupid shutdown leverage points to try to get our way because we can’t give the other side any kind of a win."

The partial government shutdown has been ongoing since December 22nd and some are saying there's no end in sight.
