Illinois Mom Thanks 2 People and Quick Thinking For Saving Her Child’s Life
We all know heroes come from all walks of life, and sometimes life's moments bring out the worst or the best in us. The definition of a hero is; "a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities", and this week's Hometown Heroes check all those boxes.
When I read the nomination letter sent to us by Kayleigh Trosper of Rochelle, Illinois, I immediately felt the terror she must have been experiencing at the moment. I also felt her extreme gratitude and knew that Adalynn Gildea and Arista Trosper had to be honored at this week's Hometown Heroes.
I nominate my oldest daughter (9 years old) and my sister. A few days ago, my middle child started choking on her own vomit and my oldest daughter called 911, my sister performed the Heimlich maneuver to make sure my daughter started breathing again. If it wasn’t for them, i might have lost my daughter. I am so incredibly grateful that my daughter and my sister took the right precautions to make sure she survived. They BOTH deserve the title of Hometown hero, so please take this into consideration.
Thankfully I have never been through a terrifying situation like that as a parent, and I can only hope I would act as swiftly and courageously as Adalynn and Arista di,d and not give into my extreme panic. Adalynn and Arista, we hope you enjoy the $100 Amazon gift card that we are giving you in appreciation for your life-saving actions from Gustafson's Furniture & Mattress.
