Not far from Rockford is the largest indoor go-kart track in Illinois.

Since I can remember, I have always been a big fan of driving go-karts. I did not want to ride along with my parents, I wanted to drive myself. My first experience was up in the Wisconsin Dells. The tracks are all over the place up there.

Then, when I was in middle school, one opened up walking distance from my house. We would go hang out there after school. Even when we did not have money to ride, we would just watch.

In Rockford, I always enjoy spending some time at Volcano Falls. It is a good way to spend some family time. Sugar River Raceway in Brodhead, Wisconsin is a fun experience because those go-carts go really fast and they time you. Just like real racing.

My only problem with go-karting is that it is strictly an outdoor, summertime, and nice weather activity. You do not want to be flying around a track in bad weather. It was is not fun.

Well, I think I just solved that problem. I found an indoor raceway. It is not that far of a road trip from Rockford. Plus, it is the largest one in Illinois. That means there is plenty of room to show off my skills.

According to onlyinyourstate.com,

"Are you looking for a fun way to get the adrenaline pumping year-round? If you’ve gone go-karting in the past, you know how incredibly exhilarating it can be, but the track was probably outside and only open seasonally. However, Accelerate Indoor Speedway in Mokena has the solution: with two indoor Grand-Prix designed tracks, it not only takes go-karting to the next level but it’s open all year, rain or shine!"
