Illinois Just Passed A New Smoke Detector Law
Homeowners and apartment dwellers & landlords, here's what you need to know about the new smoke detector requirements.
The new smoke detector law states that if you live in a home or apartment built before 1988, you need to install a detector with a a 10-year sealed battery, according to wifr.com.
Since 2017, there have been more 200 residential fire deaths, that alone was the need for a new smoke detector law. First Alert has donated installations kits and alarms to the Rockford Fire Department to help Rockford residents with installations. IF you need assistance, contact RFD Administration 779-348-7171.
