In today's world more than ever equal rights is a huge issue. It's crazy that it took some people this long to figure that out. We are all equal,no special group, gender or race is is better than the other. At the end of the day we are all people that want better for our lives , work and family.

According to Ilnews.org, The Illinois House took a major step this week. They passed House bill 246, a bill that requires public schools to teach LGBT history. It will add into textbooks the roles and contributions of all people protected under the Illinois Human rights act. In history textbooks, United states history will also include studies of roles and contributions made by the lesbian, bisexual, gay and transgender people in history.

State Representative Anna Moeller said, It would give LGBT students role models to look up to in history and it would help students that feel like outsiders. On the other side of the fence, State Representative, Tom Morrison questioned why someone's sexuality is so important, or why someone in history's sexuality or gender identification is even relevant. He also went on to say that " The quality of study that we offer young people suffers while we add quantity of that list". What I think we have to realize is that we are all just people, and only one race, The Human Race.
