Illinois Connection to the Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Romance

After this past weekend's Super Bowl win by the Kansas City Chiefs and the largest television audience in history, the world now knows about the Traylor romance.

As the confetti was falling on the field in Las Vegas following an exciting overtime game, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce had no problem with PDA as they kissed and embraced each other in celebration.

But it doesn't seem like that long ago Taylor and Travis were avoiding any talk of a relationship, including one comment Travis Kelce made in August of 2023 when he told reporters from the NFL Network "I’m not going to talk about my personal life. I know what you writers want to hear. And you want to hear more about that, and I’m not going to give you anything.”

According to a timeline of their relationship on Today, Travis Kelce attended Taylor Swift's Eras Tour in Kansas City on July 8, 2023, and then in his podcast talked about wanting to personally give her a friendship bracelet following the concert, but Kelce said Swift "didn’t want to meet me, so I took it personal."

By September 17, the relationship rumors between Swift and Kelce were the talk of the NFL, and during the Kansas City Chiefs broadcast against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the commentators even referred to the dating rumors when Travis Kelce scored and they found a way to use a Taylor Swift song in the commentary.

The following Sunday, all the rumors would become reality when we see our first glimpse of Taylor and Travis together.

On September 24, 2023, the Chicago Bears went into Arrowhead Stadium to take on the defending Super Bowl champions, and the Kansas City Chiefs were being distracted by an outside source.

The buzz about a romance between the future NFL Hall-of-Famer and the world's biggest pop star heated up when Taylor Swift showed up in a luxury suite sitting next to Travis Kelce's mom.

But, the first time we got actual video of Taylor and Travis walking closely together looking like they were about to hold hands as a couple was after the Chiefs beat the Chicago Bears and someone from Illinois was in the "right place at the right time."
