Illinois City Asks Residents What They Truly Love About The Area

This article was published on Valentine's Day, which means some people are having a great day, others are bitter, and a few could not care less.

As if there isn't enough opportunity to take a "what do love most about ______?" question and blast it with negativity, an Illinois city decided to ask this question on Facebook anyway.

One of the Illinois cities that continues to get negative press, despite the abundance of "good" related to the city, is Rockford.

Truthfully, I cringed after I read City of Rockford's question posted to Facebook today.

SHARE THE LOVE: We know Rockford isn't perfect, and we are always trying to improve. But, let's focus on the positive today. What do you love most about Rockford?

I cringed because the social media channel has become a space overflowing with negativity, unoriginality, and false information. FB has turned into a space with more negativity than positivity, it seems.

IT CAN'T ALL BE BAD, RIGHT?

Rockford has a lot to offer and a lot of good. Knowing this I wanted to see if there were actually positive responses and I was pleasantly surprised.

What do you love most about Rockford?

People are very generous when a need is known.

I do know where to find great pizza, bbq, and gyros in Rockford.

Rock River and the parks.

Rockford has a fantastic core group who are constantly working to improve our city.
