It seems like everyone is fascinated by unusual food combos this week thanks to these two viral videos of people doing weird things with hotdogs and beer...

Now, I'm going to state for the record that there is no way I could stomach the hot dog straw thing. I'm also pretty iffy about the dunking of a hot dog and bun in my beer too, but I'm a very picky and non-adventurous eater.

When it comes to unusual food mashups, I may not be willing to try a lot of them, but if it involves a sweet/salty mix, I may be game.

That being said, the big question is; could I stomach a pretzel-mustard brat mashup?

Cattle & Cream in Cherry Valley, Illinois Has a New Fall Brat Flavor Try

If you've never been to the little grocery/butcher/ice cream store in Cherry Valley called Cattle & Cream, you need to do that ASAP. When my family still lived in the Cherry Valley area, we were pretty frequent flyers at this store. My kids LOVE the Cedar Crest ice cream flavors they sell, and their meat selections are FABULOUS, so we still stop by the store anytime we are in the area.

I love the steaks at Cattle & Cream, and their brats are pretty delicious too, but perhaps they've gone a little too outside of the box with this new Fall brat flavor? I'll let you be the judge...

After debuting the mustard pretzel brat on Facebook, most people seemed up to try it, and even I find the pretzel aspect appealing. It's the mustard seed thing that is causing me to pause, but that's only because I never put mustard on anything. Perhaps it's time to put my big girl pants on and try new things?

If you need to have this brat in your belly immediately, Cattle & Cream is open daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Go try it and let me know what you think!
