Dolly Parton's Imagination Library
For those that don't know, Dolly Parton's Imagination Library is celebrating an AMAZING milestone in 2023; giving away 200 million free books to children throughout the World!
Dolly Parton is hands down one of my favorite celebrities on this planet, primarily because of her joyful and giving heart. I have never had the pleasure of meeting her yet, but one lucky kid from Sterling, Illinois will be very soon! (and yes, I'm totally jealous!)
Illinois Child Finds One of Dolly Parton's Special Bookmarks
In September Dolly Parton's Imagination Library decided to play Willy Wonka and hid 7 special bookmarks in the free books they sent out to children all over the World, and one kid from Sterling was lucky enough to find one!
Along with 4 tickets to Dollywood Theme Park, some autographed goodies, and the chance to have a video chat with Dolly Parton, the Imagination Library also made a $2,000 donation to Whiteside County's local Imagination partner LIFE (Literacy is Fun for Everyone) on behalf of this Sterling child.
United Way of Whiteside County CEO Keri Olson recently told 13 WREX;
We were definitely excited to find out a child in our community was chosen as one of seven in the world.
It’s special to be part of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, and having a local child receive a bookmark is a great kickoff for the next 20 years of providing these high-quality books free of charge to the families in Whiteside County.
Dolly Parton's Imagination Library is truly a gift for families with children up to 5 years old because it helps inspire a love for reading in such a technology-driven world. If you haven't done so yet, sign your children up to receive free books at imaginationlibrary.com.
