There is some disturbing news when it comes to living in Illinois. It seems that living here is becoming less popular.

WTVO has a story about how Illinois has seen more people leave the state than any other state in the country.

"From July 2015 to July 2016, Illinois lost 114,144 residents to other states, on net. That caused Illinois' overall population to decline by 37,508 people. Illinois is the only Midwestern state that experienced population loss in 2016, for the third year in a row."

Why are people leaving? Property Taxes back in 2015 were the second highest in the country, according to CBS 2 in Chicago. Another reason is the opportunity for better jobs in other states.

What do you think needs to happen to make Illinois a better place to live?
