Belvidere's Hometown Christmas Celebration is coming up and part of the fun is the annual Hometown Christmas tree decorating contest party. Think you've got what it takes to win?

 


The Belvidere Hometown Christmas tree decorating contest is at 3:30 p.m. December 2, at the Community Complex Building at 111 West First Street. You'll be decorating live trees in stands that will be provided for teams. Teams may also provide their own artificial trees too.

Only rules are that all tree must include lights, a tree skirt, and no flocking allowed. Winners will be based on which tree receives the most donations from the public. Then all trees and donations will be distributed to local families in need in Boone County. There is a small fee of $30 to enter. Sign up at The U of I Extension Boone County Office on Cadillac Court Suite 3.

The best part is it is a great team building and family bonding exercise. Do you think you have what it takes to decorate a Christmas tree and blow the competition out of the water?  The Belvidere Park District 2015 Hometown Christmas Light Parade is Friday, December 4, at 5:30 p.m and it begins at the intersection of North State and West Madison streets.

You can't beat fun in Belvidere when it comes to their Hometown Christmas Celebration.
