It's not often you see a home for sale that's as old and in this good of shape on the market for less than $50,000.

But that happens to be the case right here in Rockford, as Old Houses Under 50K highlighted a property at 329 South Prospect Street.

This four-bedroom two-bath Victorian duplex was built in 1908.

....loads of curb appeal. The varied roof lines, stained glass, imbricated shingles and gingerbread are standout exterior features. Interior wise, Tom Sawyer has been at it again. Many of the original features are still intact, however, and the home  is squeaky clean.

Listed by Ronald Taylor from Century 21 property details reveal the home as a "great investment opportunity. 1st floor has a long term tenant and second floor is ready to rent. Both units also have a bonus room."

Looking at the pictures, the first thing I see is plenty of white, like everywhere. While that doesn't show off the possibility of character, at least you know it's clean. You can also rest easy knowing you're not going in having to repaint everything.

Honestly, if you are looking to turn it into an investment property, the all-white everywhere is actually a great idea.

With interest rates so low, there might not be a better time than now if you've been thinking about getting into property investment.

If you end up looking at the house in person and you're considering purchasing it yourself, let us know. We'd love to talk to you.
