Hawk Harrelson Soars Into Hall Of Fame

Regardless of if you're a fan of the White Sox or not, you undoubtedly have heard Hawk Harrelson call a game or heard one of his many catch phrases. Can of corn, duck snort, he gone, you can put it on the booooooooaaaaaaard yes, and many others. He wore his heart on his sleeve and was never afraid to call it like it is, even if MLB didn't always agree with it.

Even as a die hard fan of their cross town rival Cubbies, I can appreciate what Hawk did for 34 years in the booth for the White Sox. So does Major League Baseball's Hall of Fame. On Wednesday, Hawk won the Ford C. Frick award for excellence in broadcasting.

Harrelson will receive his recognition in Cooperstown on July 25th, the day before the induction ceremony. In my eyes, this selection was "a can of corn" for the committee. Here's one for Hawk to put on the board.
