Gigi’s Playhouse Might Be Closing If They Don’t Make $20k
GIGi's Playhouse in Rockford needs our help, big time. Because of the cancellations of most of their fundraisers during the pandemic, they make be forced to permanently close the Rockford location. In an interview with WREX, GiGi's Playhouse Founding Board Member Penny Wirtjes explained the ramifications of not hitting their goal.
We're not going to close our doors today or tomorrow, but we are definitely in need of funds so that we're ready to reopen.
$50,000 might sound like a lot of money but the community can certainly pull this off. GiGi's Playhouse's is participating in "Step To Accept Challenge" next Saturday (June 6) in an effort to keep their doors open. Specifically, in Rockford, GiGi's needs to raise $50,000 to be able to reopen and stay open. The good news? They're more than halfway to the goal.
We just passed the $30,000 mark and we currently ranked 6th in the nation in the Step to Accept Challenge! Keep it coming... way to go Rockford!
The "Step To Accept Challenge" begins at 11 am and involves walking, running, riding, or swimming outdoors, or indoors on a treadmill or stationary bike. Remember, it all about the steps. It's not a walk-a-thon, you don't need sponsors, you don't even have to physically participate - you can donate to any Rockford team and the funds will stay here locally. Every dollar counts and all participants will receive a special t-shirt commemorating the virtual event.
You can donate, register, and find even more information here.
