So once you've thrown your trash away it kind of makes you feel good, knowing that you didn't litter and it's going to the right place. Well, things are starting to thaw out now and it looks like a good bit of our trash has made it to the sides of Illinois Highways and roadways like Interstate 39. According to MYSTATELINE.com,  Stateline roads are littered with trash. It's not what you think, sure people throw trash out of their cars but that's not what's happening.

It's actually flying off the trash trucks as they head back and forth to the Winnebago County landfill. One resident, Ronald Lowder said " You can follow a truck and you can see the stuff flying out". Lowder went on to say that "Everyone's trash is coming here, that's horrible". The issue is getting bigger and was a subject in the last county board meeting. At the end of the day people just want our area cleaned up. It's just absolutely horrible for tourism.
